Buffalo, NY – On the night of Sunday, March 2, 2025, the iconic dome of Buffalo City Hall was illuminated in orange to honor the memory of Shiri Bibas and her two young sons, Ariel and Kfir, who were tragically murdered during their captivity in Gaza.
“Buffalo, a city known for its love, kindness, and compassion, is joining communities around the world in recognizing the Bibas family and their tragic loss,” said Rabbi Mendy Labkowski, Director of the Chabad Center for Jewish Life.
This tribute follows a similar gesture by New York State Governor Kathy Hochul, who on February 21 ordered 14 landmarks across the state to be lit orange in honor of the Bibas family.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Council Member Joseph Golombek and the Mayor Chris Scanlon’s Office for their support in making this tribute possible.
