Rabbi Mendy Labkowski

Rabbi Mendy was born and raised right next door in the town of Amherst, and then expanded his passion for Judaism all over the world — he furthered his Jewish studies in Canada, worked as a Rabbi in Venezuela and later an educator in Brooklyn. Mendy has always felt passionate about making a difference, and always knew that he would find a place to make that happen. In June of 2018, he and his wife Chaya Mushka got married. Three year later they visited Downtown Buffalo and eventually made it their home. Mendy looks forward to bringing the love and life of Judaism to the Buffalo City neighborhood.

Chaya Mushka originally hails from Montreal, Canada. She did Jewish outreach in Montreal, Canada, and later in Pleasant Hill, California assisting its Jewish community. Chaya Mushka worked at Mazel Day School in Brighton Beach. Chaya Mushka loves baking Challah, meeting new people and being a mom to Perla.

Our tiniest team member so far, Perla never shies away from a chance to host. Perla loves to wiggle, enjoys a good meal, and sets the table for Shabbos daily awaiting guest. With a perpetual smile on her face, Perla’s joy is infectious.
